Leaks are a significant source of energy waste in compressed air systems, often wasting up to 30% of compressor output. Air leaks can also cause system pressure fluctuations. The result: pneumatic equipment fails to operate properly, productivity is low and production quality is compromised. In addition, more frequent equipment maintenance is required.
The air flow meter detects the current pressure, flow rate and total consumption of compressed air, so that the air pressure and consumption at individual points as well as in the entire system can be detected precisely. Based on deviations in the values, leaks can be detected quickly and dealt with accordingly.
Added value with IO-Link
Implementing a compressed air testing system is often costly. IO-Link air flow meters enable multiple process values to be sent over a single cable. This helps to reduce the need for costly analog cards. Since one sensor can send multiple process signals, there is no need for additional fittings, sensors, cables, and ultimately helps to simplify inventory. Savings realized by detecting energy wastage and reducing total installed costs allow for a quick return on investment.
