The cooling system is very important for the proper functioning of industrial furnaces. This applies both to the service life and safety of the machine as well as to the quality of the products produced. In order to maintain the temperature at a precise and stable level, several cooling water parameters, such as temperature and flow rate, need to be closely monitored. In conventional measurement architectures, this requires multiple sensors and mounting points on the machine.
Added value from IO-Link sensors
With the IO-Link flow meter, three relevant parameter values can be sent via a standard 3-wire cable: flow, temperature and total flow (cumulative flow). As a result, there is no need for multiple high-cost analog cards, fittings, termination points and the need to stock excessive inventory.
